Wheat bread rolls. Hot from the oven.
Recipe:
11/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4cup sugar or honey
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons yeast (instant yeast)
1/2 cup yogurt
3/4 cup warm water
Procedure:
1. Mix the dry ingredients together except the yeast. Pour in the very warm water and yogurt in a bowl. Then sprinkle the yeast on top, add the butter and start mixing in your flour (which contains the salt, soda and sugar) until a soft non-sticky dough is formed.
Leave to rest for 20 mins.
2. Divide into 12 balls, place on your baking sheet (well greased ofcourse) and allow to rise for 30 mins until doubled.
3. Bake at 180c for 20 to 30 mins depending on how hot your oven is. Enjoy!
NOTE: the yogurt is not a must. It just gives the bread a nice tangy taste that we love. You can just use 11/4 cups water or even milk. Then remove the baking soda in the recipe if you are not using yogurt. Thank you.
