How to Make Nigerian Mini Sausage Rolls at Home

Mini Sausage Roll Recipe Homemade Pastry

Ingredient:

300g flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

120g margarine

1 1/2 teaspoon salt

Water

1 egg

Hot dog

Procedure:

1. Mix the dough.

2. Sift the flour, add salt and mix well.

3. Add baking powder and mix well.

4. Add margarine in small lumps and mix by hand till it feels like crumb.

5. Add water in small quantities and mix till you get a ball of dough.

6. Transfer to a table and knead well. Make a ball and put back in the bowl.

7. Leave to rest for about 20 mins, no need to cover it.

I use hot dog.

8. Blend with a hand blender and mix well with a spoon.

9. Rub margarine inside the oven tray and spread flour on it. Pour out excess flour.

10. Beat the egg and set aside.

11. Set your oven to 170 to preheat.

12. After resting the dough for 20 mins knead it some more.

13. Roll out a piece of dough to about 5mm thickness.

14. Make a rectangular cut.

15. Rub the egg all over the cut.

16. Scoop some sausage onto one edge of the cut.

17. Fold like a mat, making sure the dough overlaps at end.

18. Cut into 1 inch long mini rolls.

19. Press into shape and place on the oven tray.

20. Rub some egg on the rolls. This helps to give them a golden look when done.

21. Bake in the preheat oven at 170 for about 50 mins or till golden.
