How to Make Homemade Shawarma Bread

Ingredients:

Flour 3 cups,

Salt 1tsp,

Baking powder 1 tsp,

Oil 1/3 cup (one third),

Hot water 1 cup or less.

Method:

1. Mix the dry ingredients, mix in the oil and add the water slowly until a soft dough is formed.

2. Knead for like 10 mins until smooth.

3. Divide into 12 and leave to rest for 10mins.

4. Roll out very flat and dry fry on a nonstick pan for like 30 seconds each side.

5. Dont fry for too long so that it would not become crispy. Put in a bowl as you fry each one and cover so that the heat from it would soften it and make it pliable.

Personal Tips:

For the filling. I used chicken, cabbage, cucumber, carrots. Marinate the well spiced chicken overnight. Fry with very little oil until cooked through. *dice into small pieces before marinating*

Sauce: I used ketchup, salad cream and mayonaise. Mix together. Then assemble everything. Wrap with foil and warm in the oven or microwave.

Serve with zobo, as a healthy option to processed juice.
