How to Make Fondant Icing for Cakes at Home (decorating)

For fondant icing, you need:

4 tbsp water

1 tbsp gelatine

1 heaped tbsp liquid glucose

1 pack icing sugar

2 tbsp glycerine

2 level tsp cmc powder

Procedure:

1. Place a pot of water on the fire.

Add the gelatin granules to 4 tbsp of water in an aluminium bowl and place bowl in the pot of water on the fire, stir and allow to dissolve.

2. Add the liquid glucose and allow it to mix well with the dissolved gelatin.

3. Add the glycerine and stir well.

4. Take off the fire. Sieve in the icing sugar and add the cmc powder to it.

5. Add the icing sugar gradually to the liquid mixture and mix/knead gently until it is well mixed and not sticky.

If it's too sticky add icing sugar.

6. Turn it on a formica or marble surface and knead well. Colour as need and use.

Notes:

If you're using 3 different colors then you just have to cut little icing into 3 then mix different color.

Don't allow the colors to mix together because it will spoil your decoration and when you cut your icing put it in a nylon because it will dry up and become strong/hard.

Also, you can apply little edible gum (use your brush to rub) that can also make it shine.
