What To Do When You Can't Sleep At Night

Tune the radio and listen to a boring documentary. This is a sure fire way you can get sleep at night within 20 minutes. But first thing first, make sure that you are relaxed and comfortable. Your breath should be undisturbed and the temperature of the room should favour your comfort. Your pillow, should be scentless and soft; loosed bed sheet and good air movement.

Secondly, you should only focus on sleeping technique that helps in wiping away every negative thought. Do not struggle either, but relax and have confident of every thought that comes into your mind, be it scary, disgusting or irritating.

1. Fantasy moment. Without making any physical effort to get yourself drifting to a dreamy world--when you can't sleep at night, you have the power of relaxing your breath by controlling your mind practically.

Start by brainstorming your good past moments. Choose a scenario where you have become what you want to be or have accomplished some big and beneficial project without drifting your thoughts and challenges you must encounter before the accomplishment. On the other hand you can imagine the future with all it's flowers, spice and the rhymes of success.

Take your mind to a fantasy world. It might be one of the things that is never compatible or that would never happen to you but still, enjoying the moment of imagination and fantasy without making yourself feel bad because you can't have it in the physical.

2. Listen to audio book. Certainly, the book shouldn't be so interesting or boring either. Turn your face out of the direction of the speaker and wait for the huge dreamy sleep to take over you.

3. If it's cold outside, open the windows and stand in front of it for 10 minutes. Do let the cool air to penetrate through your skin, flesh, muscles, then bones.

Close the window immediately and get on the bed at once. Cover yourself with a blanket to feel how your body responds in relaxation. You can even go outside for this or go get a cool shower before making your way to bed.

4. Record your favourite song using mobile phone's voice recorder, then listen to it carefully. Let it replay itself until you fall asleep. This is a sure idea and can be tried as a measure stuff to do when you can't sleep everytime.

5. If you can't sleep at night, you obviously are not tired and need to get your blood running in order to feel the urge of deep relaxation, which will in turn make you dizzy and sleepy.

Dancing to your favourite beat (a song or two) is the first and nose exciting ways to charge your body for a wonderful night sleep. Just wake yourself up by dancing in a relaxed but active manner.

Little jump, little jog and some little straightings can also motivate your muscles and joints which gets you going and creates a deep urge for relaxation. Do this for 15 minutes and tru to stand on your head on the bed.

6. The need for change. Sometimes things become boring to us not because they are not important anymore but because they've become very familiar and uninteresting.

Am exactly talking about stuffs like Bed positioning, sleeping posture (including the direction you place your head) and bed dressing. Repositioning your bed in a silent night can be a bit of hardwork but changing your sleeping postures or the clothes you wear to bed can be a minute task. Wear less fitted clothes or rather, sleep with less clothes than before.

Avoid drugs, they kill. Avoid negative thoughts, it ruins. Avoid night conference calls in the night, for when you get used to it, there would be some difficulty of sleep in the middle of the night; avoid sleeping during the day for you will find it difficult to sleep at night. This are just some basic tips on what to do when you can't sleep at night especially when it becomes too often.
