Jigger is sized about 1 mm, almost doubling the larvae chiggers. It also bore into the skin and close itself. It stays for atleast 2 weeks without any symptoms until it makes out as an adult, then the person or animal skin will start to irritate causing some itch. Professionals say the bored or bitten spot makes a dark colour indicating the legs of the jiggers inside the skin that is slightly left out.

Mostly this infestation is not so common to man as of mammals, because chigoe flea lives in humid soil and it is very rare to infest in man. So finding it more easier to jump on legs, it usually bores the feet of mammals causing something like blisters and even to more worser condition through the contributions of bad bacteria and fungi. But if it happens to bore your skin, it should be from the knee downward, unless you slept in the mud.
