The furniture should be removed or put into the centre of the room or outside in the shade, and cleaned before being replaced. Cleaning should begin at the top, by sweeping the ceiling and walls, and cleaning any light shades and lamps. Any paintwork around windows and doors should be washed and cleaned. Dark cupboards and wardrobes should be swept and cleaned well, as mosquitoes tend to rest here after feeding. They can then be sprayed and the doors shut until the room is finished and the things then replaced.
The floor should be swept last and then polished or smeared. Everything should be replaced after being cleaned. Lastly, the mops, dusters, and brooms should be washed and dried ready for the next time.
