1. The Normal Reading Routine.
Once you considered you are not doing well or not understanding the pattern of your study, switch to another pattern. Change your schedules, make some adjustments. It is either you reduce the stress of reading all the time and implement some fun or increase the rate of your personal study time.
2. Focus On Time.
Many successful people have on mentality; they respect time more better than any other thing in this world. As a student, to do better in class you have to be sensitive to things that will consume your time. There are many unnecessary things to do that usually limits your focus in studies and the opportunity to learn better things.
3. Concentrate Fully, Regardless of your emotional state.
As a student, you don't have to think about many things apart from the success of your studies. And if that is the case, you have no excuse of missing concentration in the class. Do not let other classmates, window scenes or even your emotional stat to distract your attention from the teacher. Remember that you get more from the oral tutor more than just studying text books and note books alone.
4. Involve yourself in group studies.
When I was in secondary school, I usually shy away from group studies and upto date am regretting the opportunity I missed from involving myself to learn more from student's perspective. No matter how dizzy you are, group study motivates you, gives you an idea on where to put more concentration and most importantly builds up your mind to understand things easily. Take a step right now and achieve your goal.
5. Making Friends that Will Help your class Performance.
Apart from group studies, making permanent friends who always show a big passion in studies such as arithmetics or mathematics gives us a better view of the subject and encourages us perpetually to do more. Usually, make a friend that does better than you in class in case of emergency help. You know! But make sure to choose wisely, by choosing the wise ones.
6. Change your Class Sitting Position.
As we've talked about concentration in class tutors above, your sitting position also affect the effectiveness of your mind in learning and understanding. Go right to the front sit, in order to avoid distraction, give your mind to the teacher, ask questions without fear, and answer without anxiety in order to be a better student in class.
7. Ask Question and Be Fast in Answering General Questions.
Set a Goal to ask any question on the day's tutor, where the chemistry seems so hard to be digested. In the other hand, answer as much general questions as you can, even though you are not sure whether you're right, in order to clear out the doubt and be corrected at the right time before it is too late. Do not hesitate to meet your teacher personally if you have problem in certain topic, every reasonable teacher will be glad to help you and He'll make sure everything is clear for you. Do this and you shall be a better student in class for your effort.
8. Perform Extra Researches.
No matter how small things might be, it is good to apply practicalized a genuine interest on them in order to implement "the little you know you know it very well". Take your time for further experiment in order to be a better student, especially in science.
9. Concentrate on Assignments and Class-work.
Do not be like the old me, neglecting assignments and running away from class work. Respect that time you have for learning. Class work and assignments serve as tests of our ability, which in return we correct our mistakes to be better next time.
10. Read Between The Lines.
Focusing on reading itself all the time is very vital to be a better student in class. But reading between the lines counts alot to notice the effectiveness of your effort. Try to understand every sentence you read and I can guarantee you to be a better student in class.
