Nigeria has a wide range of goods and services with which it trades with the other countries of the world. Nigeria exports commodities such as crude oil, cocoa, groundnut, palm produce, hides and skin, and in recent times labour by way of the Technical Aids Corps Scheme. In return, Nigeria imports variety of goods and services which include machinery, automobies, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, drinks, beverages, high technology and technical manpower.
Nigeria's principal trading partners include:
1. Benin, Togo, Ghana, the Gambia, South Africa, etc. In the African continent: (O.A.U. countries)
2. The U.K., Germany, France, Norway, Italy etc. in Europe;
3. U.S.A., Canada and Mexico in North America;
4. Argentina and Brazil in South America;
5. Jamaica in the Caribbean;
6. Japan, Australia, Korea, China, India, Malaysia, Thailand in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
